The Future of the Armory

During Spring 2026, the City of New Haven will be launching into the next phase of the Armory’s development with an Adaptive Reuse and Market Feasibility Study. Following years of grassroots community planning, a team of architects, designers, and financial planners are working with community stakeholders to develop a plan for the redevelopment of the Armory. Public Meetings

Hundreds of New Haveners have participated in public meetings over the past three years, generating dozens of ideas, hopes, and dreams for the future of the Armory.

Planned Program

Led by the City of New Haven Housing & Administrative Services staff, the project will integrate housing options as part of a mixed-use redevelopment.

The City of New Haven has identified three key programs for the redevelopment of the Armory.

Career-Connected Tech School

Led by the City of New Haven’s Board of Education, this space will support workforce development and educational initiatives.

To be determined through continued community engagement, ensuring the project aligns with neighborhood priorities with public / community-focused programming and users.
