About Us

A New Haven Landmark, the Goffe Street Armory was built in 1930 for the National Guard.  From the beginning the Armory was intended to be used for a wide range of public events, including the Black Expo (1972-77) and ArtSpace Armory Weekend (2013-17).  The building is owned by the City of New Haven and it is currently disused and closed to the public.

The Armory Community Advisory Committee (AC2) is dedicated to working with citizens and city officials to develop a community based vision and feasible plan for a revitalized Armory.

The website is a clearinghouse for information about the Goffe Street Armory, its architecture and social history, and the ongoing public efforts to reinvigorate this invaluable public asset.  It is also a collector of information about the Armory.  Please contribute your memories and ideas in the comments sections found on each page and join our mailing list.

Thank you!

Organizers
